Continuing Education Course Instructor

After graduating from Duke University with her Doctorate in Physical Therapy, Mary worked for an inpatient rehabilitation hospital in Virginia where she developed a love and a passion for individuals recovering from neurological conditions. Because she wanted to provide more robust and recovery-based care for her patients she pursued residency training, and graduated from the Brooks’ Neurologic Residency in 2014. Since her graduation she has worked on the Spinal Cord Injury and Neurologic program serving as a coordinator and leader for the program. She has taught courses in neuroplasticity, brain injury recovery, clinical gait analysis and administration of the American Spinal Injury Association’s International Standards of Neurological Classification of Spinal Cord Injury exam. Additionally, she also serves as the lead therapist in a hospital-wide initiative to provide electrical stimulation to patients with pressure injuries, and maintains a full calendar of students completing their clinical internships as part of their entry level education.
