Residency Coordinator Elected as Director to the Academy of Geriatric Physical Therapy
Congratulations to Jacqueline Osborne, PT, DPT, GCS, CEEAA on being elected Director of the Academy of Geriatric Physical Therapy! Dr. Osborne currently serves as the Coordinator for the Geriatric Residency Program at the Brooks Institute of Higher Learning. She serves the Florida Physical Therapy Association, the American Physical Therapy Association, the American Board of Physical Therapy Residency and Fellowship Education, and the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties in many capacities and we are looking forward to the positive contributions she will bring to the Academy of Geriatric Physical Therapy in her new role.

Brooks IHL Neurologic Residency Now AOTA Approved!
Residents who successfully complete a program with an Approved Residency Site will be eligible to apply for AOTA Board Certification with 3 years of practice instead of the typical requisite of 5 years.

Brooks IHL Faculty and OMPT Fellow-in-Training Awarded $15,000 Grant
Jason Beneciuk PT, PhD, MPH, Tava Buck, PT, DPT, OCS and a stakeholder team consisting of patients, caregivers and clinicians were recently approved for a $14,864 award by the Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI) to support a project on capacity building and community engagement.
This project will focus on building the community and capacity to improve patient healthcare experiences for musculoskeletal pain with specific emphasis on the role of physical therapy and identifying processes in care most important to key stakeholders.
PCORI is an independent, non-profit organization authorized by Congress in 2010 to fund comparative effectiveness research that will provide patients, their caregivers, and clinicians with the evidence needed to make better-informed health and healthcare decisions.
IHL Director, Bob Rowe, Elected to APTA Board of Directors
The Brooks IHL is honored and proud to announce that Robert (Bob) Rowe, PT, DPT, DMT, MHS, FAAOMPT has been elected to the Board of Directors for the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA). Dr. Rowe is currently the Director of the Brooks Institute of Higher Learning, and also serves as the Fellowship Coordinator for the Brooks Orthopaedic Manual Physical Therapy Fellowship. Dr. Rowe has been with Brooks Rehabilitation for 9 years, and has since led the development of 6 residency programs, 1 manual therapy fellowship, a clinical continuing education program with over 70 course offerings each year, a clinical student internship program that accepts over 300 students annually, a Systems Clinical Advisory Panel (S-CAP), and countless professional development programs for Brooks clinicians.
