    Ms. Julie Watson currently serves as the Occupational Therapy Faculty Discipline Lead and OT Mentor for the Brooks Geriatric Residency Program. In addition she works as a full time faculty member at the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences. Ms. Watson currently serves as the Regional Representative for northeast Florida and Executive Board Member for the Florida Occupational Therapy Association.

    Ms. Watson’s clinical specialization and interest is within the specialty area of geriatrics with particular interest in assistive technology, stroke management, and caregiving. Ms. Watson’s research focus is on caregivers of stroke survivors.

    Ms. Watson is an Assistant Professor at the University of St. Augustine where she teaches Administration and Management, Gerontology, and Assistive Technology. Ms. Watson has been invited to speak at University of North Florida and Daytona State College on topics related to Gerontology and Assistive Technology. Currently Ms. Watson serves as the Occupational Therapy Faculty Discipline Lead and OT Mentor for the Brooks Geriatric Residency Program. In addition to her teaching duties Ms. Watson is a second year doctoral student at the University of Florida. She is pursuing her Ph.D. in Public Health in the Behavioral Science and Community Health Department. Ms. Watson has presented at the American Occupational Therapy Association national conference, Assistive Technology Industry Association national conference, and Florida Occupational Therapy Association state conference.

    Ms. Watson has served as a Regional Representative and Executive Board Member for the Florida Occupational Therapy Association since 2009. Ms. Watson has been an active member of the American Occupational Therapy Association and Florida Occupational Therapy Association since 2000 and 2003, respectively. In addition, she volunteers for the St. Johns County Council on Aging Car Fit events and is the Co-coordinator for Fall Prevention Events at the University of St. Augustine on an annual basis.
